Question : Thank you for your help! I am currently hiking the XXXXXXX Trail, tenting for the last five nights. I have had a gradual onset of nasal congestion, puffy am eyes, and, at times, trouble breathing. (The latter I attributed to climbing the high altitudes, but am otherwise very fit, so now I am wondering. The clincher was this am - we had been tenting in high grass, and, upon waking, my eyes were almost completely swollen shut. I do use a down sleeping bag, and was using it around my face last night to stay warm. I've never been affected by down before. Your thoughts and recommendation for treatment is much appreciated!
Brief Answer:
It is allergy to pollen from grass.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for the query.
As per your clinical history it appears as you are having allergy to pollens from grass.
If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you combination of Antihistaminic + Montelukast , Prednisolone & antibiotic + steroid eye drop.
Certainly above treatment will give you much relief but if relief is not upto satisfaction level then consultation with your doctor will become essential.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks & Regards.
