Question : I woke up early this morning to feed my cat then went back to sleep for a couple of hours and woke up with dizziness and nauseated feeling. Aftert aking probiotic and a light fizz drink rested for a couple more hours. But still feel more nauseated and less dizzy, a bit of a cold sweat too. Don't really have diarrhea but have gone to the bathroom around 3X now but no relief for nausea. Had a drink of mint tea to help but no changes so far.
I wonder if it's the fumes from a natural sealant I applied to some wood yesterday (adequate ventilation) or maybe something I ate last night. My wife seems fine, exposed to the same things.
thank you, XXXXXXX

                                    Brief Answer:
Most likely food poisoning.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
It is most likely that feeling nauseous and dizzy after eating something, than fumes of sealant, because effects of fumes are related mainly to respiratory tract problems and symptoms start almost immediately after the exposure.
It is necessary to stay well hydrated and use of Omeprazole 20 mg Once Daily in empty stomach for next 3-4 days may help with nausea.
If the nausea will persist and/or profuse diarrhea starts, get evaluated by your primary care Doctor.
Hope I helped you.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Greetings.

                                    Thank you Dr Erion,
The only thing I can think of was the yogurt I ate last night that my wife didn't have. Probably a delayed effect as I felt fine last night and early this morning when I woke the first time to fed our cat. It was a couple of hours later I woke up to a spinning room and nausea.
Since then, about 6 hours now, symptoms subsiding(dizziness n cold sweat), still a bit nauseous
Thank you, XXXXXXX
