Posted on Fri, 13 Feb 2015
Question: Hi, just wondering if symptoms are all related. I have had constant nausea for the past few days (non-alcohol or pregnancy related), excessive thirst, headache and upper stomach/back pain (not constant) and fever, tiredness. But I also have a thick tongue & swollen glands around my neck? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
They all look to be related.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

After reading your symptoms carefully , they all look to be related.
-Nausea, thirst, headache stomach ache, back ache which is not constant, fever, tiredness along with thick tongue and swollen glands around the neck.

These are more suggested of flu- viral infection.
I would advise you to take Panadol at 6 hourly interval .

Consult a Doctor to see if the swollen glands around the neck were the primary cause for the other symptoms you developed or the effect of flu.
This is because if the glands came first and then the other symptoms, you probably will be started on antibiotics and other anti-inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen or so.
Bed-rest helps a lot for early recovery and plenty of oral fluids (which you already are taking).

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for more if you need to.
