Question : I AM 65 YEARS OLD, NORMALLY OUTDOORS FISHING, TREASURE HUNTING WITH NORMAL ENERGY. FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW I HAVE HAD EPISODES OF NAUSEA, VOMITING, AND SEVERE DIZZINESS NEVER DIAGNOSED. I JUST WENT TO XXXXXXX FOR VACATION AND COME BACK AND I AM FATIQUED SLEEPING A LOT (LIKE 14 HOURS LAST NIGHT.I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BORDERLINE DIABETES. I HAVE LITTLE ENERGY AND FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT. I HAVE HAD 2 THUNDERCLAP HEADACHES IN PAST. MY BLOOD PRESSURE RUNS HIGH AND THE DR. IS HAVING ME TO CHECK IT AM AND PM. SHE PUT ME ON LOW DOSE LISINOPRIL AND WAS ALREADY TAKING METAPROLOL DAILY. IN THE PAST 3 -4 YEARS WITH THOSE EPISODES I HAD SEVERE DIZZINESS. EVERYTHING GOING AROUND. ALSO I HAD TINGLING SENSATIONS IN ARMS AND HANDS AND WEAKNESS AFTER. SHE HAS A CARDIAC SERIES ORDERED FOR THIS COMING THURSDAY. DOES THIS SOUND HEART RELATED TO YOU? MY BP IS LOW NORMAL NOW MOSTLY BUT STILL TIRED. ALSO MY LEFT CAROTID IS WEAK. RIGHT IS STRONG. I WAKE UP WITH HANDS NUMB ASLEEP. YESTERDAY AFTERNOON MY BP WAS HIGH FOR ME BEING ON TWO MEDS AND VOMITED X 4. NO DIZZINESS THO. WHAT IS A CARDIAC SERIES AND WHAT DOES IT CHECK FOR? CAN YOU HELP ME? I ALSO HAVE FINGER AND TOE ERECTIONS.. LOL

Hi,

Long standing undiagnosed ailments always needs to be checked if a new symptom comes way or the existing symptoms bother a little more than earlier. It is true that a lot of symptoms may not get proper diagnosis under a doctor. However subsequent follow up and monitoring may always help to arrive a treatment plan.
Yeah it sounds like heart pump plus insufficiency reach as a problem. The numbness of the limbs sound arterial insufficiency.
So in your case after your vacation it is good to check with cardiac series ( ECG, ECHO, Treadmill testing and enzyme markers) to understand the structure and function of the heart. I would also go for internal carotid intima thickness.

At this time I would just try to keep the BP under 140/100 by adding calcium channel blockers safely. It may perhaps help the headaches. Dizziness and nausea could be addressed with this as well.
