Brief Answer:
Not HIV; Go for RNA PCR to relieve anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hello young man,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for possibility of HIV after the protected intercourse with a sex worker.

After reading your query I can make out that you are quite stressed regarding all the symptoms you are feeling and therefore correlating these with Acute Retro-viral Syndrome (ARS).

After analyzing the complete situation let me first reassure you that your symptoms are not exactly related to ARS but more commonly towards acute anxiety states.

In your query you have stated that you used protection during intercourse therefore it is extremely unlikely to get HIV after using protection. I quite often consult patient with your kind of situation and getting panicky and therefore correlating one of the other symptoms to ARS. But actually speaking these are due to acute panic created due to fear of HIV.

In ARS, it take s few weeks of period to present the symptoms and do not manifest so ealry. The most important of the thing to tell you is in ARS- fever is the most commonly encountered problem. As I can get from your query that there is no fever been present in your case.

You did HIV test and it was non reactive. As I can get probably it was antibody test for HIV. At 9 days it is of no use and not exaclty before minimum of 6-8 weeks.

I suggest you that if you are really very panicky about the situation then can go for RNA PCR test which is the best test to tell you your negative states at 19 days. As I said in my clinical experience it will be negative.

So relieve your tensions regarding HIV and just go for RNA PCR to relax from the anxiety of HIV.

I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.

"Wish you good health"
