Question : I have had cervical surgery on C5 and C6 I then had lumbar surgery on L3 and L4 this was all too help alleviate some of these issues that I was having which was pain in the neck pain radiating from my left and right arms down into my legs with numbness tingling stabbing pains and the results from the surgery did not prove anything well the symptoms are still there I have a lot of jerking motions at night especially when I sleep with a pillow and once the pillow is removed the symptoms seem to alleviate there is still C3 and C4 that shows a disc osteophyte complex approaching the entrance of the neural foramen closely approximating the left C4 exiting nerve root the physician still tells me that has nothing to do with my symptoms which I am very frustrated with I still feel that the C3 and C4 could be affecting my whole nervous system at this point the surgery was done in 2017 the symptoms started May 2016 when I was bent over stretching and I felt this tingling spider web like feeling go down my neck and into my body ever since then I've had these issues I just can't seem to find an answer. I have been a nurse for over 17 years and this is the first time I have been off it's been out for months of not working and no progress and was hoping that these positions could help me.

Brief Answer:
Please provide more information about the surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Please provide more information, or the surgical report about the type of surgical procedure done in your case ( anterior discectomy and fusion, posterior laminectomy with or without fusion, etc.).

It is necessary also to provide the imaging studies reports, such x-rays, MRI of your spine.

In my opinion, your symptoms indicate instability of your cervical spine and dynamic x-rays of your cervical spine ( neutral, flexed and extended position ) are necessary.

If there is still compression on your spinal cord and/or nerves and if there is instability of the spine, extending of surgery ( posterior laminectomy and fusion for example ) should be considered.

Awaiting for more information......
