Question : An accident necessitated that all my toes on my left foot be amputated. This was done 8 years ago and I still have nerve pain everyday because of it. Most of my pain is on the pad of my foot when I walk and where the toes were is most sensitive. I use gel pad inserts in my shoes with some help but not much.
What can I do to relieve this constant pain?
What can I do to relieve this constant pain?
Brief Answer:
can go for nerve ablation
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
The pain is mostly due to nerve entrapment in the scar tissue or a neuroma formation.
As not it is eight years post surgery, all you can do now is to go for nerve block/ablation/neurolysis.
In this process the affected nerve rootd carrying the pain signals are identified and destroyed.
You need to see a chronic pain specialist or a neuro surgeon for this.
Hope i have been helpful.
