Brief Answer:
post menopausal syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for using health care magic.
I feel there is clear symptoms that are indicative of post menopausal syndrome. Although there are variety of treatment available but most women do not require treatment and with slight modification of life style they can be managed.

I am noting down some specific strategies to deal with your symptoms.

1. Hot flushes and night sweats
- Try to identify triggers of it and avoid them. Most common triggers are spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine, stress, or exposure to place.
-Dress in layers and remove gradually when you feel a flashing.
-Use a fan
-Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is the most effective available treatment for hot flashes and night sweats.
If you are not willing for HRT than other prescription medicines can be used by your doctor, including antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and antihypertensives. Take slow, deep breaths when a flash starts.
If you’re overweight, losing weight might help with hot flashes.

2. Difficulty in attention and concentration-
-Get enough sleep and stay physically active.
-Avoid taking too many responsibilities.
- De-stress yourself
- Talk to your near and dear one
- Try a support group for women who are going through the same things as you.

I understand that you have history of depression in past at which time you were prescribed amitryptiline, nortryptiline and celexa, probably none of them worked well for you.
While meeting your doctor please discuss in detail what is better option for your symptoms. If he considers that you have recurrence of depression that using antidepressant of different class may be worthwhile option.

While putting your next query please mention the kind of medical illness you are having, if any. That will guide me to make calculated decision for management of post menopausal syndrome.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
