What Causes Non Retractable Foreskin Of Penis?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am having problem in foreskin retraction on penis. Also the foreskin becomes very sensitive and the head looks little red. I already consulted the dermatologist and using the treatment for 15 days everything was fine. But again it re-occurred. I am out of town and went to attend a local medical camp for free cancer check-up, where in one of the booth the general physician checked the genitals and asked me to do the blood sugar tests due to the re-occurrence & as mom is diabetic. He also suggested me to wash the penis with diluted potassium permanganate till i get back to my dermatologist. I have the PP but dont know, how much quantity i need. Please suggest on the solutions proportion and any other advice.
I still need to out of town till next 15 days. Your suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have problem in retracting foreskin over glans penis and redness of glans penis, .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Since how long you have this problem of inability to retract foreskin?
2) Is there itching of the foreskin.?
3) What are your blood sugar levels that you have tested recently?
Mostly this is either due to infection of Foreskin and Glans penis (Ballano Posthatitis) or fungal infection of the foreskin (Muco Cutaneous Genital Candidiasis).
Mere washing the genitals with Potassium Permanganate will not help to resolve your problem .
You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexine along with anti fungal medication like Fluconozone twice daily orally along with topical anti fungal jelly for local application.
If you are diabetic proper control of diabetes is mandatory.
Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily.
If problem persists even after taking medications and you are still unable to retract foreskin you will need to get circumcised .
