What Causes Nose Itching And Sneezing While Talking Or Eating?

Question: Hi Dr XXXXXXX thanks for your concern.

Now when I am eating or when I am talking sometimes, this action will still trigger my nose itching or sneezing, and then I start to have running nose. I still feel like there are something flying on my face or mouth area. And people around me still feel uneasy or they may have certain reaction seems like showing some signals.

Do u think it's bug or fungus? Not sure if MRI can tell what's on my tissue?

I try to distract myself for not thinking much, but it just happen even though I 'm thinking about it.

Or do you think it's something related to Hormones?

Can you recommend what sort for checking I should go for? Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. I would suggest that you first take a trial with amitriptyline (Tryptomer). If that fails, get a turbinate reduction and a septal spur removal done.

2. This may help relieve your symptoms. Your sinuses are clear. A clear MRI will settle that. I doubt that it is related to any hormonal disturbance (unless it is cyclic).

3. All other investigations should be considered if you do not get relief from these procedures.
