Question: First off, Thank you for taking my inquiry.
I was just laying down for a nap after work in bed and awoke to find the left side of my body ( mostly head, neck arm and leg were all severly numb, tingly and was basically paralized. Could not move or speak or call for help.

Not sure what just happened or what i should do moving forward.

Would appreciate any advice you could give me

Brief Answer:
it would be best to be assessed , rule out transient ischemic attack

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you had a TIA (transient ischemic attack).

This is sometimes known as a XXXXXXX stroke or warning stroke meaning that there is a risk of a full blown stroke.
This is only a possibility, it is possible that there is another cause.

TIA occurs when there is temporary interruption of the blood flow to the brain. It causes stroke like symptoms that last less than an hour usually though the exact time frame may vary.

It would be best to see your doctor for assessment.

If it thought to be a TIA then long term management involves aspirin as well as control of any risk factors for another stroke (diabetes, blood pressure, smoking cessation, diabetes, weight)

Other causes of temporary neurological symptoms are low blood sugar, type of seizure, bleed in the brain

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
