Brief Answer:
few possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
In most cases this is temporary condition due to nerve pinchement or inflammation, but since i lasts for 5-6 weeks then you should do some tests to rule out possible neurologic conditions. In first case, these are neuropathies, such as diabetic, alcoholic or metabolic neuropathy due to lack of vitamin B and D. Other possible cause is compression of nerve in lumbar spine and rare but more serious causes are demyelinisation neuropathies.
I suggest to take steroid injections and nonsteroid painkillers, take vitamin b and d supplements and rest. If there is no improvement you need to do MRI of spine and do more detailed neurologic work up. Wish you good health. Regards
