Diabetic neuropathy and nerve entrapment need to be excluded

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have carefully considered your problem. Tingling and numbness is referred to as parasthesia in medical terms. It is often caused when a nerve gets compressed or damaged. The first thing that needs to be done is to get your fasting blood sugar checked to rule out a condition called diabetic neuropathy. Diabetes or high blood sugar is a condition which may be present without our knowledge. It can gradually lead to damage of our nerves, especially hands and foot. The presentation in the morning could be typical.

Some other conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome could also be the cause, wherein the supplying nerve gets entrapped between other structures. But you need not panic since there is also a possibility that you are sleeping on your hand and it is temporarily compress the supplying nerves and thereby cause the tingling and numbness.

Hope that helps.
