default
Posted on Sat, 4 Feb 2017
Question: I am a 50 year old healthy white female. exercise 4 times a week and in good health. one week ago I started with face numbness and bilateral arm numbness, a few days later it moved to legs, I had so visual changes one month earlier. optic nerve and structures they said are perfect. I have plugged ears, nauseated sometimes and a little light headed. sometimes experience heartburn. Numbness turns to itching and sometimes hot.
I haven't noticed motor deficits but my arms feel heavy sometimes. Went to ER blood work, chest X-ray , ct scan of head, and urine all normal. No sign of heart attack, stroke, tumor. please help. very scared.

I had CBC and everything was normal

Brief Answer:
Neurologist and MRI recommended

Detailed Answer:
Many of the symptoms you describe lead me to believe that this is very likely or possibly neurological and warrants more testing to determine its etiology. I believe MRI scans are more specific and often times more precise and accurate in regards to determining what may be causing nerve and or nervous system abnormalities than CTs as you've mentioned. As such I would seek consultation with the neurologist with the request or at least suggest that an MRI be performed.
