Question : My 48 year old son called and said he had a strange thing happen to him. He said he had numbness on the left side from his neck, all the way down. He said he was also very dizzy. It passed after a few minutes and he said he felt fine ever since. He is a severe diabetic. Please advise. Thanks for your time.
Found a list of his meds. He is on Trazodone, Famotidine, Benazepril, Paroxetine, Bupropion and Lantis

Brief Answer:
Can eb electrolyte imbalance or diabetes affecting nerves.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Many causes of such sensations in the neck and body are there. These include injury to the neck or spinal cord, Lack of blood supply to the arms and body as a result of plaque formation in the blood vessels, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid. Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in the body and a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause such numbness.
He can start taking Vitamin B12 supplements and electrolyte rich fluids like fresh juicy fruits and see if it helps. A few investigations will help in detecting the cause.
I hope this answers your query.
