Question : The top knuckle of the middle finger of my left hand went totally numb. Rubbing and moving it did not bring it back. 2 hours later, it has most of the feeling back. However, now the ring finger (top section) is starting to go numb.

I have studied your case.
There is possibility of ulnar nerve compression.
nerve can be compressed around elbow or in cervical spine.
you will need clinical examination and further investigation like MRI and EMG NCV study.
Another common possibility of peripheral neuropathy.
Do you have any chronic disease like diabetes or hypothyroidism. ?
neurotropic medication like methylcobalamine can be started consulting your doctor.
