default
Posted on Tue, 29 Nov 2016
Question: My son just called and said that he cannot feel on one side of his face. He said that he hadn't gotten a bee or spider bite that he knows of. He said that it's as if he drew a line down the center of his face and he can feel on one side and not the other.

Brief Answer:
Neurological conditions to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

There are several neurological conditions that may cause half of face numbness, and these include compression of trigeminal nerve inside the skull, neurodegenerative diseases ( multiple sclerosis ), transient ischemic attack etc.

It is necessary for your son to get evaluated by a Neurologist in order to achieve a correct diagnosis.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
