What Causes Numbness On The Bottom Of The Foot?

I do not have diabetes and I have never smoked. The numbness is only in my left foot. I notice it when I walk across a rug barefooted. I live in Hawaii so I do not wear shoes in the house.
I do not have any weakness. I walked 2 miles this morning. Actually, my foot felt good after I walked.
The walking shoes I wore on my trip were brand new and my foot is not use to having a shoe on for such a long time like that. Is it possible that the tight shoe damaged the nerve?

Brief Answer:
It can be neuropraxia
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reply. Nerve compression possible due to shoes but it does not have long time problem. I have following suggestions for you.
1.tablet Methylcobal should be taken one daily.
2.hot water fomentation for both feet.
3.avoid tight shoes again for some time.
If it is due to pressure on nerve then it is not permanent. So this nerve pressure will soon recover. If it persist then you might need to get EMG/NCV test to confirm cause of this problem.
thanks
