Question: I feel like something is blocking my urine. I'm able to pee but not very well. I thought it was a uti so went to urgent care yesterday and my urine was clean. It's gotten more painful today. Is this something I can wait to make an appt with a urologist or should I do something sooner (like er)?

Brief Answer:
It may or may not be a serious issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,

obstruction to urine passage can be related to urethral stricture or something obstructing the urine passage. like stone.

to diagnose you require an ultrasound and if needed a uroflowmetry.

please inform if-- the symptom have suddenly appeared in last 2 days or progressively worsened in last week's. is there any fever? any blood in urine? is the amount of urine volume coming out has reduced or the speed with which it comes out has reduced. did you have any local injury.

best wishes.

The symptoms appeared suddenly last week and have gotten bad within the last 2 days. No fever. No blood that i can see. The speed of urine has definately decreased. Its very hard to start peeing and then it kind of dribbles out. No injury that i can think of. So is this something that can wait for an appointment (maybe several days) or do i need to get checked sooner?

Brief Answer:
Please get yourself checked as soon as possible

Detailed Answer:
I think you should check sooner. an ultrasound kub with postvoid residue estimation and uroflowmetry are the important tests. urine routine examination to rule out urine infection should also be done.

best wishes
