Brief Answer:
Yes there is treatment but unsatisfactory results

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.
First of all I must inform you that occasional homosexual thoughts are very common and do occur in about 50 % of men and women.
In case the thoughts are very frequent and there is lack of attraction toward opposite sex we need to understand and respect biology.

The condition is known as homosexuality and can be treated with counselling and psycho education about the problem although there is questionable success rate.

I must acknowledge that it is normal phenomenon (at least considered so in liberal societies) and many of the people prefer to come out rather than succumbing toward social pressures of marriage and relationship.

I hope this gives you some relief.
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
Accepting self is best strategy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Hormonal therapies were tried in the past when homosexuality was considered abnormal for humankind. During that time it showed some results but they were less than satisfactory. So it can be said that accepting yourself is best strategy. I understand that there is social stigma and our minds are not so liberal but the creator has created somebody in different way.

Recently most of the people consider it normal (except few countries like India) and do not seek any treatment.

Finally I will advise you to approach any psychiatrist in your city and he will guide you through further process. with right counselling there is huge possibility of change if desired.

I hope this helps you to some extent.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
