What Causes One Sided Headache Along With Weakness?
Most likely an attack of migraine
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your symptoms and they are suggestive of migraine. In migraine, one can have headaches on one side or involving entire head.
Sometimes, the attacks are severe and they do not respond well to paracetamol. Rizatriptan is a more specific medicine for headache relief in migraine. Also, if you get frequent headaches, you should consider starting preventive medications to reduce the frequency of headaches.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,

You have had headaches earlier too.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
In your query, you have mentioned that you have had headaches earlier too, so, I considered migraine. If this is the first episode of headache, then, you need evaluation, including brain scan to exclude other causes.
In migraine patients, we use preventive medicines like propranolol or topiramate on daily basis to reduce the number of headache attacks.
Best wishes,

CT or MRI scan
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
If you only have headache and no other symptom, then, CT scan of brain is enough. If there are additional symptoms such as vomiting, double vision, etc, then, MRI of brain is preferred.
