Question : Good Evening Doctor, My Mother is going through headache in one of the side, for last ten days. She visited a doctor in Deoria, happened to be Ayurveda doctor. He told that the reason of pain is blood clotting. She took the medication for few days and got relief, however she is facing loose motion out of it. She stopped taking medicine because loose motion became sever. now she is suffering with loose motion and headache again. My mother was hit by a Cow ten days back and she was fallen down unconscious. The cow hit on her thigh. I request your advise how and where to cure her suffering. Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Please consult neurosurgeon and get a CT scan brain done immediately

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. If she was hit by cow ten days back and had unconsciousness followed by severe headache then it is strongly suspected that she might have a internal head injury.

2. Please take your mother to a big city having super specialty medical services and get a CT scan of brain done immediately after consulting a neurosurgeon.

3. Any suspected bleeding in the head due to cow incident is to be confirmed because she is having headache that is persisting. Treatment is based on CT scan findings.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Thanks for your advise. I will take her to XXXXXXX Medical and get the CT scan done. just a correction- She was not actually unconscious by headache but lost sense due to fear of incident. Local doctor had checked and found high blood pressure and temperature. Given relief pills then she became normal after few hours. However headache was still there and increased over next few days. therefore she got it checked in Deoria. The reason for asking your help is, i am far away from my parents and unfortunately i cant see whats going on. even myself not aware of medical systems in the locality and trying to figure out what and how best can be done to avoid wasting time and money. My parents are illiterate and they tried their will to cure by visiting random doctors. However they end up spending good amount of money for nothing being done properly. Hope XXXXXXX has the facility ?

Brief Answer:
Please get CT SCAN BRAIN PLAIN done in Gorakpur

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. You are right in saying that she is far away from you and therefore you are tensed about her health.

2. Doing a CT scan is advised in every patient with head injury who is having a persistent headache. It is possible that the CT scan will be normal but then unless it is done, you will not get peace of mind.

3. There have been many patients in my clinic who have fallen weeks or months earlier and have bleeding in brain and there is risk to the life of the patient if not treated on time.

4. XXXXXXX is a big town and there should be CT scan machine in government hospital or private centers. The cost is about 2000 Rs but doing it and getting a proper report will give you peace of mind. Please tell them to get CT SCAN BRAIN PLAIN done.

5. Ignoring a bleed in the brain can lead to death and this should be prevented. Since we have latest machine like CT scan therefore you should not miss a chance.

6. I have tried to know the address and phone numbers of CT scan centers in XXXXXXX as found through online directory

(i) The Apollo Clinic
+(91)-551-0000, 0000 142-A, XXXXXXX Mandir Road, XXXXXXX Ho, XXXXXXX - 273001, Betiahata

(ii) XXXXXXX Chikitshalaya & Citi Scan Centre
+(91)-0000 Medical Road, Chargawan, XXXXXXX - 273004

(iii) Doctors Scan Center
+(91)-5568-220790 Jalkal Rd, Deoria Sadar R.s., XXXXXXX - 274001, Opposite Of Jalkal

7. Please make your own inquiry by phone and know whether they have CT scan facility and guide your mother to the most convenient place in XXXXXXX

Hope your query is answered.

Brief Answer:
Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Regarding details of private clinic, I do not know any doctor in XXXXXXX personally and therefore would recommend you to make local inquiry regarding doctors in neurosurgery or neurology who might be able to provide you a standard care and treatment that is required for the patient.

Following is the list of practising neurosurgeons in XXXXXXX which is from online listing

(i) Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Neurosurgeon,
Rachit Hospital
93, Daudpur, Nahar Road, XXXXXXX (UP)
0551-0000 | 0551-0000

(ii) Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Jaiswal
Neurosurgeon
10 No Boring, Gorakhnath, Saketpuri, XXXXXXX Ho, XXXXXXX - 273001
+(91)-0000 +(91)-551-0000

2. For prescriptions, online health policy allows only over the counter medications to be suggested to the patient and confirmation of medicine doses as given by your doctor. I cannot start any dangerous medication without examining the patient in detail. However, we might be able to discuss medicine names, doses, drug interactions and side effects in detail.

3. Please send me copy of the CT scan report when it is done and we can discuss in detail. Online health experience is still in its infant stages and improving every day. However it is not a replacement for your regular doctor as there is no complete patient evaluation without clinical examination.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr.Vivek
