Question : I have a large oval bruise on left side if stomach. It turn purple. Had blood work which came back fine. I was switched from Crestor to Zocar could this be the reason

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that ZOCOR contains simvastatin and the bruising you are mentioning can be a side effect of this drug but it is seen very less . In case you are using medicines like ecosprin etc. , they are much likely to cause such bruising .

Well welbutrin can also rarely cause it but since the recent change is of simvastatin I think its the culprit . You talk to your treating doctor regarding this and I hope he will change it .
