What Causes Pain Across Incision Site?

Question : I have pain across where an incision is. I had surgery on Nov 23 2016 was ovarian cyst with both ovaries removed. I was hospitalized for 6 days for an intestinal blockage but no surgery required at that time. The pain was general stomach. At current pain is more localized in the area of incision. Do I need to be concerned or can I wait to see a Doctor next week?

Yes as per your query you should be concerned as the pain is around the area of incision.Please consult your surgeon at the earliest. It may be because of adhesion or some collection (pus) in the abdomen because of some rupture.
Investigations advice
Ultra sound abdomen
Swab culture from incision area
Total and differential leucocyte count
Complete blood count.
Blood routine and microscopy.
Follow up with your surgeon with reports of these investigation.
Till that time-
Antibiotic like cefixime 200mg twice daily,Along with an anti inflammatory analgesic like diclofenac should be started prophylactically for symptomatic relief.

The incision area is totally healed at this time with no visual sign of an infection.

In that case get a ultra sound abdomen done along with some blood tests like total and differencial leucocyte counts.
Ultra sound will provide a very clear picture of the scenario.
Dont take antibiotic just take a pain killer anti inflammatory.
