Brief Answer:
Urine infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.
This seems like a urinary tract infection.

*where exactly is the pain?
*what colour is the urine?
*what kind of smell do you experience after you urinate?
*any history of kidney stones or prostate problems?
*are you sexually active?
*any fever? Or recent injuries to groin area?
*any other medical issues or medications?

I recommend :
-a physician consult
- urine complete analysis and culture (the latter will take a couple of days for the report to arrive)
-an ultrasound abdomen to check for stones and prostate problems
-blood tests (complete blood count, kidney function tests)
-citralka syrup 15ml in 1cup of water thrice a day to help with the burning.
-tab. Pyridium 10mg twice a day

Based on the above, I could help you further.
In the meantime, continue to drink plenty of water (3 liters per day)
Avoid alcohol, smoking, caffeine, sugar, carbonated drinks and spicy foods.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad

Brief Answer:
Tab. Pyridoxine - yes, syrup after consulting doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for the follow up.

Yes you can have it, but I recommend that you check for signs of infection or stones first.
You may take the tablet but the syrup should be taken after consulting your doctor. It may worsen certain types of stones (although useful for uric acid stones)

If there are no stones in the ultrasound, the syrup may be taken at the suggested dosage.

You may additionally need antibiotics to treat the infection based on the results of the tests.
A first morning urine sample (midstream-let the first few drops go and collect the rest) is ideal. The analysis report should be ready the same day.

Even if symptoms disappear, there is a possibility of recurrence, hence better to check.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health.

Dr. Shuba Hariprasad

Brief Answer:
Yes, urine Infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.

*Could you please tell me what tablets he prescribed?antibiotics?

Yes this is the infection (indicated by numerous pus cells)
*were there any casts mentioned in the report?

-Please take plenty of water. You can have the syrup and the tablet I mentioned earlier.
-Maintain hygiene regularly. Clean foreskin and glans with water
-after using the toilet for stools, wash from front to back to prevent contamination.
-wear cotton underclothes and wash in hot water once a month.
-once again drink plenty of water.

If the doctor has prescribed antibiotics, please complete the course for a minimum of 5 days. Repeat a urine test after one week to see if Infection has gone.
If not, a urine culture and sensitivity is required (mention the name of the antibiotic taken when you repeat the test-helps in accurate analysis).

Hope I've helped.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
