default
Posted on Sat, 13 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, I got a vagianal discomfort that have lasted for few days (almost a week) so I saw something in a regular store called "monistat 1 day treatment". I did read the instructions and followed them. Right after I introduced the ovary, I put some of of the cream that came with the ovary; I didn't feel anything immediately, but five minutes or so and it started burning and aching like crazy. What should I do? I tried to washed it but it did help.

Brief Answer:
Due to allergy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The pain and burning sensation in the vagina is likely to be due to an allergic reaction to the monistat suppository. Washing the area with plenty of water and a vaginal wash like Vagisil will help in removing the left over cream thus reducing the irritation.
You can also use ice in the area to reduce burning. Apply a steroid based antiseptic ointment like Neosporin -H or aloe vera gel to soothe the burning and to reduce the inflammation. This should subside in 2-3 days. Please do not worry.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
