Question: Hello ~ My son is 25 years old. He is have extreme pain and difficulty when urinating. Do you know of any over the counter remedies that may help him? He is not employed and does not have insurance

After reading your post, it seems that your son might be having a urinary tract infection ( UTI ). He should be investigated.
As you have enquired about the over the counter medicine for relief, I would advise that you should give him a painkiller like Ibuprofen twice daily after meals along with an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals. These are easily available as over the counter medicines.
Moreover he should drink lots of water daily as this will help in controlling the infection to some extent.
