Question : Dear Doctor,

How are you? I hope you remember us (daughter and mother).

About two weeks ago I noticed that my daughter was crying while passing urine, so we took her to the doctor. A urine sample was also given at the lab and the report came back negative. I have uploaded the report for your review. No medicines were prescribed except that the doctor advised us to put lot of nappy cream. The discomfort seemed to have subsided, but again last evening she cried while passing urine. I was wondering what could be the reason again.
Your inputs would help me ease my mind.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards,
XXXX(mother)

Dear Doctor,

Please see my answers below:

1. No fever. She is playing around. Only thing is that she shows some disinterest in eating. I don't think, or rather, not sure if it would be related to the urine discomfort.

2. No vomiting.

3. No chills and rigors.

4. Urine analysis uploaded.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry - just concentrated urine

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Do not worry at all. This could just be a concentrated urine which is causing her this discomfort. Just give her plenty of water and she will be fine in a couple of hours. Moreover the temperatures are raising good hydration is essential to avoid this in future.

Dear Doctor, I have been giving lot of water and applying nappy cream but today also she was uncomfortable while passing urine. I also noticed that her vaginal area has become red and looks sore. I am unable to get an appointment with the doctor till Easter is finished. Your inputs would definitely help.

Brief Answer:
May be a fungal infection of the genital area

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ... By what you quote I feel it could be a fungal infection of the genital area.

I suggest you apply any over the counter antifungal cream available and licensed in your country.

I suggest Quadriderm cream which covers everything. Apply twice a day till you see your doctor there.

Dear Doctor,
I have with me now Canes ten broad spectrum antimycotic with fungicidal action. 20g cream contain 0.2 g bis-phenyl (2 chloro-phenyl) - 1-imidazolyl-methane.
Pl advice Doctor if this can be used. If not, then I will immediately buy the other one suggested by you.
Please could you advise why she would have got a fungal infection. I'm not able to understand why she could get one.
Thanks
