Question : Hello, I am a 37 year old female who had been experiencing some pain and discomfort in my right big toe. It hurts the most when I try to bend my toe up or down, and sometimes feels like something is "catching" inside the toe (or that it needs to "pop"/"crack" when I move it. The pain seems to happen most often after I am wearing high heels, but sometimes it happens when I am wearing flat shoes. I have noticed that it looks like that toe does not bend as far as my left big toe. I don't notice any redness or swelling of the right big toe.

Brief Answer:
Could be due to acute attack of gout.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

From description it seems to be due to acute attack of gout. I suggest you to get serum uric acid level checked. Meanwhile continue icing, rest and taking ibuprofen or tylenol.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
