Posted on Mon, 13 Jun 2016
Question: My calf has been sore for a week. Just walking. no injury that I know of. I walk and spin a lot but have rested for a week. Taken Advil. Doesn't seem to get better or worse. Morning feels better night worse. That whole leg feels a little, achy. Want to be sure it isn't anything serious. It is not severe pain just sore as I take a step. Causes little limp

Brief Answer:
Needs to see if it is not DVT

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Pain in calf at your age can be due to prolong waking. But it can be deep venous thrombosis. (DVT) and that needs proper evaluation. So I would suggest you to get doppler examination of the calf to make sure that it is not a blood clot.
if doppler report is normal then it can be tackled as muscle pull. You need to get hot water fomentation and volitran gel. Avoid standing or walking for long time.Calf streching will also help.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
