What Causes Pain And Stiffness In The Joints All Over The Body?

Posted on Tue, 5 Jul 2016
Question: For over a year I've had episodes where my joints/muscles hurt, feel stiff and weak. It lasts a few days, goes away and returns a few weeks later. I have visited my GP twice, 2 rhuematologists, and anorthopedic Dr. I was tested for tick borne illness, RA, Lupus, and had a CBC. Everything is normal.
The last episode I had ( 4 weeks ago) did not completely go away, it left my legs so weak/stiff I feel like I over exercised. All my other muscles are fatigued, worsened with use. X-rays and an ultrasound are normal. I was sent to physical therapy a few weeks ago-no help. The dr. sent me to a neurologist, he tested me for porphyria, test was normal. He said he Will do some further testing, but the soonest appointment is the end of August! He told me just hang in there.

What can I do in the meantime? Can you please offer some help. I run a summer program for youth, i'm afraid I'm not going be able fulfill my responsibilities. I'm so afraid of a neuromuscular disease that I'm having bad anxiety.
