Question: Hi I had epididymitis over a year ago I was given antibiotics but they didn't seek to work the pain and swelling subsided so i presumed it had gone now every now and again it comes back for a short period usually if I'm un well It came back yesterday and I'm recovering from food poisoning
Brief Answer:
It is acceptable to get occasional pain at the site of surgery.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concerns. What I understand from your statement is that the pain from circumcision comes back intermittently. If that is the case, I would consider it acceptable. Be sure to be on the lookout to see if there is pus accumulation or something else that looks abnormal. If that is the case you should see a doctor.
About the food poisoning, I would not worry if you are taking adequate amount of ORS (oral rehydration solution). If not, be sure to take ORS. It is essential to replenish for the salt and water lost.
Hope that helps.
Regards

I'm not circumcised I have epididymitis in my testicle tube the epididymis
Brief Answer:
Scrotal support is essential
Detailed Answer:
I am sorry for not getting it right. Epididymitis or epididymoorchitis can be related to certain viral infections like measles. The other possible cause could be inadequate blood supply as in case of torsion of testis. Use of T-bandage or scrotal support should provide relief. You may also put a pillow or rolled up towel under your scrotum to elevate your scrotum when you sit or lie down. Use pain medications like aleve (naproxen) as required. Ice can help in decreasing swelling and pain if it is there. If that does not help, I think that you should get yourself examined and evaluated by a doctor.
