Brief Answer:
RA leads to early osteoporosis and degeneration of joint and bone.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.

RA leads to early osteoporosis and degeneration of joint and bone.
Due to RA there can be Osteophyte formation in cervical spine leading to pain and swelling on neck.

I will advise you MRI cervical spine to see degenerative cervical spine changes.
Osteophyte formation are common in old age, there is also nerve root compression in foramen leading to neck pain.
Also there can be mild disc bulge which can be compressing over spinal cord.

For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication like pregabalin can be started consulting your doctor.

Till time, avoid lifting weights. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like Tens and interferential therapy may give you relief for few days.

I will advise you EMG-NCV [nerve conduction study] if there is weakness.
Continue your anti rheumatoid medication.

There is good role of diet for RA treatment
You need to avoid bakery items, high protein diet, and curd, milk and milk products.
Avoid cold and fermented food, bitter and sour food.
Eat fresh fruits, vegetables, salads.
Many of my patients get relief by yoga pranayama and XXXXXXX XXXXXXX so you can also do that.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
