What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Legs?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Sep 2015
Question: I am a 54yr overweight female. I have tender areas in the bottom of the top of my leg and the top of the bottom (sounds confusing) Not straight behind the knee but below and above. This is more on the left leg but is on the right leg also a tender area on the back of my right arm. Another area that has been tender for a few weeks now is the side of my breasts and underarms. It may be menopausal as I have not had a period for perhaps 9-10mth or so. Have been extremely tired and could sleep half the day and yet have no problems sleep at night. Another thing that oftens bothers me is the left underside of my left foot is tender and painful

Brief Answer:
Get Vit D, Vit B12 and bone densitometry tests done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns.

I read your notes.

The symptoms you have can be due to Vitamin D and Vit B12 deficiency.
So please get them checked.
Get your thyroid hormone checked too.
Based on the results you can be treated.
Osteoporosis can cause such tenderness. But it is unlikely that you will develop osteoporosis so early. Yet get bone densitometry done.

Take multivitamins daily along with calcium. Make at least half an hour of exercises your daily routine.
Please consult Orthopedic doctor for tender left foot.
I hope this helps.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
