What Causes Pain At Operated Site Of Inguinal Hernia?

Question : I had my right side direct inguinal hernia repaired by open surgery four months ago.. I am a diabetic. Whenever I masturbate the pain at the wound site starts and continues for a couple of days. I have not risked a proper intercourse since the operation. Is it a symptom of recurrence. 15 days after surgery I unfortunately climbed a rickshaw with full body weight on my right leg ( on the side of surgery). It pained alot then but subsided subsequently. Could it be that that incidence may be causing pain or something got ruptured then?

Sir, From the details you have given that pain occurs after masturbation which subsides after 2 days is mostly because of the more stress on the site of operated abdomen.This doesn't seem to be normal since the surgery was 4 months ago. It may not be related to the incident happened after 15 days.

Complications are more in inguinal hernia repair like chronic pain, ejaculation disorders. Hence in my opinion you should get back to the operating doctor for detailed clinical examination.
