Brief Answer:
Sounds viral

Detailed Answer:
Good morning. So sorry that you're not feeling prim and proper as you should. Your symptoms sound to be very generic for something of a viral infection in all likelihood. You seem to be taking a lot of different OTC medications and I don't know if that could be running you down as well.

The best advice to give in a situation such as this when there are general feelings of weakness or asthenia (feeling blase) and nothing in the way of fever or other more dramatic features for a bacterial entity such as severe headaches, nausea, vomiting, stiff neck, etc. would be to reduce the amount of medication that is OTC, increase fluids generously to include water and juices as opposed to caffeinated beverages. I would also encourage increasing amounts of Vitamin C (in powder form; Whole Foods has a very good product) to the level of 1500-2000mg. daily and make sure you are eating healthily and nutritiously. Do some Ensure or Boost if you don't really feel like meals. Power shakes and Veggie/Fruit smoothies are also good for this type of situation.

If you are inclined to get a checkup by a doctor then, I would also support this...especially if you've not had blood work done recently. Basic parameters such as blood counts and to check for anemia as well as thyroid function would be very important to get AND not to forget things that are often overlooked when people have vague symptoms would be the URINE. UTI's are one of the most frequently missed infections that can cause just about every general symptom, headache, muscle aches/pains, and of course, lethargy and lack of energy compared to any other infection.

Over the age of 50 the TYPICAL SYMPTOMS of burning, cramping, and back pain are felt less and less by both men and women. So whenever someone comes to me with such symptoms and other things don't seem to have worked I always include a urine for good measure.

If I've adequately answered your questions could you do me a huge favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and being sure to include some fine words of feedback along with a 5 STAR rating if you feel my answers/suggestions have helped? Again, many thanks for posing your questions and please let me know how things turn out.

Brief Answer:
Fever has passed?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the clarification and sorry I missed the fact that you stated you HAD a fever for 2 days which ended last Wednesday (6 days ago)? If that's the case then, if anything that may even lend more credibility to the conjecture that this is a viral process. Had it been a bacterial process such as a sinusitis, pneumonia, other upper respiratory infection, or even something significant such as a meningitis then, things would've continue to progress and likely get worse with ongoing and worsening fevers. Viral processes can come without or without low grade fevers (even high fevers sometimes).

Certainly, if you are having any trepidation about letting this resolve using the recommendations and suggestions I offered then, the best course of action would be to be seen at your own doctor's office for a checkup and some bloodwork and urine as I mentioned. If you don't have a doctor then, an Urgent Care Clinic or a Pharmacy Minute Clinic type of environment should be quite adequate to help you identify what's going on and get you on the road to recovery.

Again, all the best to you and if I've given you some additional useful information could you do me the favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and being sure to include some positive feedback along with a 5 STAR rating and I am interested in knowing what any results would be from a doctor or clinic you may go to if you decide in that direction.
