default
Posted on Tue, 9 Aug 2016
Question: I had my gallbladder removed by laparoscopy 2 weeks ago. 5 Days ago I started getting a sharp continuous pain on my right side near the 2 small incisions. Pain ranges from 3-7 at any given time. Could this be related to the surgery?

Brief Answer:
Yes, this can be related to the surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Yes, it can be related to the surgery. In some cases, hematoma can appear in the soft tissues near the incisions. It is also possible to have a fluid collection in the gallbladder area. All this issues can cause pain. Fever ca also appear.

I suggest you to consult your surgeon. Abdominal ultrasound should give the answer what is casing the pain.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
