Question : For the last couple of days, I've had a discomfort in my penis that usually only occurs when I get an erection or rub the right side of my penis only. At rest I feel no discomfort at all, it doesn't hurt or burn when I urinate and I have no other discomfort whatsoever except as noted above. It has be curious

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Kindly check for any lesions around penis and also at inguinal region. If you find nothing visible or on palpation then no need to worry much. This may be due to friction.

Keep the area dry and use only sun dried inner wares. Don't handle or manipulate it and just be relaxed. You can apply calamine lotion externally. These measures may help you.

Be vigilant for any new lesions and if the discomfort continues better to get done ultrasound scan once to rule out any pathology.
