What Causes Pain, Floaters And Discomfort In Eye Even After Cataract Surgery?

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Apr 2015
Question: I had YAG surgery a week ago on one eye, after 6 weeks having had cataract surgery. Still no difference. Still unable to drive. Have pain, floaters, and discomfort in that eye. Light is very troublesome. Scheduled to have the other eye done with the YAG next week. Don't know if I want to go through it again. It was a painful proceedure and no help. I think I was given the wrong lenses. Now what?

Brief Answer:
Pain, discomfort indicate inflammation and requires treatment by steroids.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

Thank you for the follow up question.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you had posterior capsular opacification for which you have underwent yag laser treatment.
Yag laser is almost a painless procedure and should not cause pain during the procedure.

The symptoms of discomfort, pain, sensitivity to light following yag laser is sometimes seen and is because of inflammation induced by the procedure.

This responds to treatment by the use of steroid eye drops.

Please provide me more details regarding vision in both the eyes, diagnosis in the other eye so that I can advice you accordingly after thorough assessment.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
