Brief Answer:
You may need to first confirm diagnosis,

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.

You may need to first confirm diagnosis, as why there is repeated effusion in your knee.
Blood teat like ESR, CRP, and knee aspirate cytology will help in diagnosis.
If required MRI knee may help.

Precaution to be taken
Activity modifications-avoid squatting, avoid cross leg sitting on floor, and reduce stair climbing.
Weight reduction is very important to prevent progression.
Do daily exercises and stretches.
Diet rich in calcium and vitamin D will help to reduce progression.

If all tests are normal then this can be effusion stage of degenerative osteoarthritis.
Calf pain can be due to deep vein thrombosis which can be confirmed by colour doppler study.
Calf pain can also be due to vit B12 deficiency.
