Brief Answer:
Can be used for long term depending on the diagnosis;test reports needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Now, before preparing a full treatment scheme, I should know what problems you are actually having with your stomach : acid reflux? ulcer? gastritis?

For this purpose, an upper endoscopy is advised. If you have already done it, please send a copy of it or/and a copy of all tests you did so far.

Gaviscon is an antacid; it will regulate the pH of stomach stomach. It can be used after meal or each time you feel burning in chest or difficulty swallowing. It can be used for a few months depending on the diagnosis.

Looking forward to have the requested reports/data to give the treatment option suitable for your case.

Brief Answer:
Can continue using it for a few more days...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for your clarifications.

If this is your case, now, if you have been using Gaviscon for 3 days now, to my opinion go on using it up to 5 - 7 days after first day of starting it.

If after 7 days, you are ok, then, stop using it and store Gaviscon at a cool place for future use.

If the symptoms will appear again, can use it again.

For the moment, I do not think you should start other stronger medication.

Hope it helped!

Brief Answer:
Viral Gastroenteritis following viral infection of upper respiratory tract

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Your new GI problems are not related to gaviscon.
It seems a viral Gastroenteritis to me. Last week you were having flu. It is common for viral infection of upper respiratory tract to be complicated with viral Gastroenteritis.

It will be settled in a few days. Take plenty of water with OTC ORS to replace lost fluids with diarrea and keep well hydrated.

Take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora. Take tasectan or Nodir (anti-diarrhea) meds to stop diarrhea. Do not use loperamide.

Have light meals, avoid oily, chilly/ spicy foods until improvement.

Hope it was of help.

Brief Answer:
Yes,should wait until tomorrow morning to start Pantoprazole...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Ok, I'm glad you've visited your doctor.

Yes, should wait for tomorrow morning to take Pantoprazole. Do not worry for this night. The effect of pantoprazole is not coming overnight on contrary to gaviscon. It will take a few days to see improvement, that's why it is prescribed for 1 month (at least).

Wish fast recovery!
