Question : Hi,

I have had pain in my clitoris on and off for about two to three months now following a uti. The other day I had a closer look and found what looked like a tiny white spot next to my clitoris and when I tried to squeeze it it wouldn't pop and just hurt... The same kind of pain I have been feeling. I know that it is unlikely to be an std because I have been with someone who is std free for two years and was not sexually active before and have never and would never have unprotected sex
sex. Please could you tell me what this could be and how to solve the problem.

Brief Answer:
Likley to be infected cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Possibility of infected retention cyst is to be considered. Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination. It would be helpful if you could get back with clinical photograph of lesion for further assessment. Also do let me know if you have any urinary symptoms at present.

Awaiting your response

Brief Answer:
Likely to be fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

From the clinical picture provided it appears to be excoriation of the region, as the picture is a close up one it is difficult to comment as comparison with normal surrounding is not possible( high resolution picture including the surrounding will be helpful for comparison). The likely cause is due to fungal infection.

I would suggest you the following

1. Urine Routine and microscopic examination to rule out persistent Urinary tract infection.

2. Keep the area clean and dry

3. Wear only cotton panties

4. Wash the undergarments thoroughly to remove traces of detergent.

5. local application of combination of anti fungal like Clotrimazole and steroid like Betamethasone applied twice a day will be helpful

Brief Answer:
Puncturing is not recommended

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

Popping with pin is not recommended as it may lead to flaring of infection. I would suggest you to send me a clear picture including the surrounding normal area for assessment. It is likely to be excoriation with folliculitis.
In the meantime local application of Mupirocin or Soframycin ointment will be helpful.

hope these pictures are a little bit better... as you can see there is no white discharge or anything and the area is not overly red or itchy but that little white dot at the top really hurts when pressed.

Brief Answer:
They are normally present

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Ms

The inner side of labia minor and area surrounding clitoris are abundant in hair follicles and secretory glands. They also are involved in secretion of pheromones. The white sago grain like lesion is not due to infection but due to distended secretory glands. There is absolutely no cause for concern and are present in many normal women.
Puncturing them or squeezing them will invite trouble; they are better left undisturbed.

Brief Answer:
Squeezing could have resulted in pain

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

An attempt to squeeze or manipulate it could have resulted in pain.
Also Hot Seitz bath will be helpful on relieving the discomfort. Following is the procedure: To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoon of dettol or any antiseptic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day.
Clean and dry the area with soft french towel. Apply small quantity of prickly heat powder.
Also would recommend you to wear only thoroughly washed cotton panties.

Wishing you a very happy and healthy life.

Take care
