Brief Answer:
EAR DRUM INFECTION-NEEDS EVALUATION.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having ear pain.

Based on your clinical details, it occurs to be ear drum injury due to nose blow.

Eustachian tube (tube connecting the middle ear and nose) gets clogged due cold episodes, forceful blowing causes retraction of ear drum leading to simple congestion or rupture.

I suggest the following measures, to overcome your ear pain.

1. Needs ENT consultation for otoscopy (to see the status of ear drum), if necessary audiometry. Treatment can be started as per the findings.

2. Mean time, stop blowing, avoid water per ear (plug it with dry cotton during bath) to prevent reactivation of infection, stop consuming freeze products (curd/ice creams), do not clean with ear buds or fingers.

3. Take simple pain killers, like tab brufen 400mg twice daily and anti allergic medications, tab cetrizine 10mg one tab at bed time.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
