Question : I have currently one day left of amoxicillin treatment for chest infection and my ear and throat have become painful today and mild headache. I have a celebration on Saturday and need to stop this in its tracks! What would you recommend?
Brief Answer:
please take the amoxicillin
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Headache with ear and throat pain suggests that the infection has spread into the sinuses and throat and i would recommend that you continue your amoxicillin for few more days.
You can also start gargling with hexidine mouth wash two to three times a day and steam inhalation 2-3 times a day, this will help in early recovery.
Please avoid cold and spicy food.
If your pain worsens or does not reduce in 24 hours , i would like you to meet your ent doctor , who will examine you and guide you accordingly.
Take care!
