What Causes Pain In Feet?

default
Posted on Fri, 27 Jun 2014
Question: I had a painful left foot for about five weeks now. Resting seems to ease pain, though I'm constantly standing at work. It came on overnight, no impact or incident. At first I though it was just a sprain from maybe twisting overnight, then gout since it's really painful to walk on. Have tried heat and cold relief, parcemtol, aspirin etc, as well as ibrufen gel. Also tried tubing rip, ankle brace.
For doesn't appear swollen, though top of fort quite tender to touch in centre of top of foot, can't curl toes as before though not painful to try. Walk wi a noticeable and painful limp, wearing shoes presses down and hurts also.

Brief Answer:
It requires a x ray and may be MRI

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,
After reading your answers and your case I came on this conclusion that you may be having one of these conditions :
1. Stress fracture of metatarsals
2. Tenosynovitis of tendons of foot
I would suggest you to get x ray and MRI of the foot. These test will help in finding out the cause of your foot pain and then accordingly treatment can be started. If you want, you can mail those reports to me also.
Since your pain is not present on rest, I do not think it can be Gout.
Stress fracture will need rest and immobilization. If it turns out to be tenosynovitis, then it may need steroid injection.
Let me know if you want to ask any other question.
Thanks.
