Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms

Going by description of severe pain at upper groin region with previous history of weight lifting , possibility of tear in inferior Epigastric artery needs to be considered. It's a artery which is present in abdominal wall and usually is injured due to heavy weight lifting.

If the following criteria are fulfilled there is unlikely to be serious issue

1. Absence of swelling of lower limb

2. Absence of any discolouration of lower limb

I would suggest you the following

1. Limb elevation aand Bed rest : Elevate the limb by placing it on 2 pillows

2. Local application of hot water fomentation

3. Analgesic like Ibuprofen will be helpful.

If the pain persist or worsens then consultation with Physician is definitely required.
