What Causes Pain In Inside Of Elbow Of Both Arms?

default
Posted on Thu, 4 Sep 2014
Question: I've had inside the arm elbow pain on both arms the past 4 months. More defined on the right than the left but still feeling both. I've also had some pain resonating in my legs as well. In the last day I've developed a left eye upper lid twitch. I do a lot of working out and someone mentioned it could be a neck/shoulder issue. Opinions?

Brief Answer:
Is your arm pain is on the bony point of elbow

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your question and I think twitching of eye lid is not a disease . Do not worried about that as it will go by its own. About your arm pain. It can be a tendinitis. But before I advise anything I want to know few details .
1. Is this pain is more when you are doing forearm exercises or lifting weight?
2. Is this pain is also present during rest or when you are not doing any workout?
also tell me about nature of the leg pain, is it same like elbow pain ?
3. Are you on some medicines for body building like steroids ?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
thanks.

I am not taking any steroids/PEDs/etc. The pain in the elbows has been pretty consistent the past 4 months. I do obstacle course racing and often carry heavy objects on my neck area during races and also in training. I will also get some radiating pain down my forearms I'm assuming as a result of the elbow pain. It doesn't specifically hurt when working out. I've seen a buddy of mine who is a PT and he said it isn't golfers elbow or tendinitis based on the tests he did on me. The pain and now the eye twitch has me more worried about MS or ALS based on some symptoms and age.

Brief Answer:
It can be cervical spondylosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I believe it is a case of cervical spondylosis. In some person specially with heavy weight lifters mild disc herniation in neck can occur due to sudden jerking. This may be causing nerve compression in neck because of which pain in radiating in arm and forearm. I would suggest you following.
1.Get MRI of the neck region to confirm the diagnosis.
2. Avoid heavy weights on neck or head. Avoid any sudden jerky movements. You can wear neck collar during workouts.
3. If there is nerve compression on MRI report then you will need intermittent cervical traction exercises.
4. Tablet Pregabalin and Methylcobal is good in such cases. Discuss with your doctor if you can take them.
your eye lid movements are not suggestive of Multiple sclerosis. Do not be scared about it.
I hope this answer will help you. Let me know if you have any followup query.
Thanks
