Question : My wife has pain in her left jaw and middle of her upper stomach. She has taken antiacids but with no relief
Brief Answer:
Visit the ER
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. Upper abdominal pain is frequently caused due to gastritis or hyperacidity or gastroesophageal reflux which may also be related to the jaw pain. Under such a situation, 5-8 teaspoonfuls of antacids may be required. In particular, combinations like Syrup Mucaine Gel are more effective. In an acute situation, usually an injection of pantoprazole often provides relief. Other causes of abdominal pain and even heart ailments also need to be ruled out and I strongly suggest that you visit the emergency room of a hospital immediately.
