Posted on Fri, 18 Sep 2015
Question: I am having pain emanating from my left side to my stomach that all of a sudden started without explanation. I am a 68 yr old male that had a left knee replacement 13 months ago and continue to have other arthritic issues that are treated with Celebrex and Tylenol. What could be causing this pain?

Brief Answer:
It might be related to stomach hyperacidity caused by Tylenol and celebrex

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I had gone through your question very diligently and I really appreciate your concern .
Looking at your description, history of arthritis and medicines (Tylenol and celebrex) you are taking which irritates linings of the stomach and produces more acid in stomach.
So this pain in left side of stomach might be related to stich hyperacidity or acid reflux
Another possibility is indigestion, intestinal infection and other rare causes

Here I would like further information for better assessment of the condition
Since how long you are having this pain?
Are.you having symptoms.of acid reflux like bloating or heaviness in stomach?
Your complete medical history like diabetes or other metabolic disease
Are you taking any other medicines

In my opinion.you should take anti acidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids
Avoid fatty fried spicy an drunk food
Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and plenty of fluids

Please wrote back to me with these details so that I will be able to tell you more precisely.
Best wishes
