Brief Answer:
Illio inguinal nerve affection may cause it

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms XXXXXXX

Laparoscopic appendectomy is unlikely to cause such symptoms. If sometimes the port site is close to inguinal region, affection of illio-inguinal nerve can cause such symptoms .
It woud be very helpful if you could provide following additional information

1. Is there any swelling in the thigh
2. Is there redness in thigh?
3. Is the pain aggravated by movements of limb?

Local application of hot water fomentation along with painkillers will be helpful

Awaiting your reply

Take Care

To rule out disc prolapse

Hi
Greetings

If the pain is shooting in nature and situated in back of thigh along with pain I'm buttocks or lower back possibility of nerve compression due to disc prolapse needs to be considered.
Diagnosis will depend on clinical examination
